INNOCENT-GUILT

Several blocks away,
Now lives my darling Mike.
I crossed the streets,
Strolled to visit Patrick,
And fell for his tricks,
So I lost my guardian angel.

Come-on boy!
Wilt thou eat the same food all day,
Even though she's no prodigy?
So I followed my allies,
Just to see where power lies,
It was all but the same act of coy.

If He's a God to whom you kneel,
Why does he not answer thee?
They led me to the bush of knots,
Where I called their god,
But it's eyes did blink not.

Is it your property?
Even the government does it.
Take, loot and be abreast.
I tried, it worked, I quenched my thirst.
But I now struggle to have a good rest.

Our innocent self,
And the self-guilt.
Those things in the dark,
Which held our shine aback,
Now revealed to us at last,
That all is vanity and mere lust.

A LAN WITH A PLAN

The patriotism of a man, Popularly known for splashing cash, Was once held so high as next to the sun. That he never thought of a backlash. His party, friends and ally, Had him as the next leader. So he gave out his all to every rally, With hope to reap bountifully later. But the Bible had admonished, “Woe to a man who trusts in men” So the word became flesh, And the evidence today is fresh. A new man had risen with a plan. With fame, cash and lies, Who knit cunning ties, With intent to steal from Alan. The promise to him as his inheritance, Is now nullified without stance, Within the new sect of patriots, Who were once his cherished compatriots. “It is my turn” Yes he exclaimed! You should have taken your chance, The Judases had vividly explained. Thus, how he gave out his birth right. Never say never as dry bones can rise again. Alan will not give up the chase, Knowing how much there is to gain, Especially when you have a good case. So here they come! As a united front, To give the s...

UnSHREDDED DREAMS

It’s another weekend! Where the light shines no more At the the tunnel’s end Unless we decide to roar. Life has come to a limit. As everyone is in remit, To their weaknesses And not just sicknesses. Soon looms another year, As December is here. January is yet pending, And we all hope to be there. But where are the hopes? Our past ambitions, Those dreams we shared with the popes, And our prayers of petitions. Whatever we hoped to taste, All seems burnt to waste. We asked for money, But we only got to sip honey. We prayed for grace, But our faces fell in grease. Maybe it was not your time, So God didn’t give you a dime. But if you are reading this rhyme, Know ye that you are about to shine.
